This site www.grid-cfd.ru is intended to exchange ideas on a development of effective grid generation for solution of CFD problems.

OrthoGrid – is a grid generator which was developed 15 years ago for automatic generation of an orthogonal grid on a plane. For theoretical aspects of this generator go to here ».
It is based on a simple control of spacing resolution – through a step on the curvilinear coordinate. The ratio of Lame’s coefficients is accepted to constant for the whole solution domain. A grid constructed by means of orthogonal grid generator, is the most suitable for problems of hydrodynamics because its curvilinear coordinates are streamlines and isobars of potential flow.

HexaGrid – is a traditional multiblock generator with structured hexahedral cells. It has all necessary toolkit for grid generation in three-dimensional domain. To see how it works go to here ».
Transfinite interpolation is used for grid generation.

The further improvement of grid generation method is seen in two directions:

1. Development of most friendly interface, when a goal is achieved by minimal number of necessary commands/operations.

2. Automation of process of generation. For the block-structured generator this means that the edges are created manually, and further process of formation of cells is carried out automatically.
